Paramount Pictures has shuffled around its release schedule again with four major tentpole films marking their territory.
The next chapter of the “G.I. Joe” franchise, currently titled just “G.I. Joe,” will open March 27th 2020. Seven months later will come a film adaptation of the microscopic alien warriors franchise “Micronauts” on October 16th 2020.
Then the long in the works film adaptation fo the “Dungeons & Dragons” tabletop role-playing game has been set for July 23rd 2021, while an untitled Hasbro event film is marking out an October 1st 2021 release.
Why these dates? Two years ago came word Paramount and Hasbro were planning a shared universe based on five separate Hasbro franchises – “G.I. Joe,” “Micronauts,” “Visionaries,” “M.A.S.K.” and “ROM”. Three of these just announced dates seem to tie into that, while the separate ‘Dungeons’ was recently picked up from Warner Bros. Pictures.
