MoviePass has changed its terms of service again this week to prevent subscribers from seeing the same movie more than once.
iMore first spotted the new limitation which will apply to all subscribers – new and existing. That’s unlike the current four movies per month restriction which applies to only new consumers for now.
MoviePass’ website says: “We recently updated our Terms of Service to reflect that MoviePass subscribers are only permitted to see a select movie in theaters once with your MoviePass. We hope this will encourage you to see new movies and enjoy something different.”
CEO Mitch Lowe tells THR the rule is to cut down on fraud, not unlike their recent test requesting certain users to upload pictures of your ticket stubs or risk account termination – something that may soon be rolled out user-wide.
Lowe also says new features are in the works including couples plans and options which include 3D and IMAX movies.
