The first press rounds for the upcoming “IT Chapter Two” have begun and director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti have been answering some questions – including one about another potential Stephen King adaptation the pair are attached to.
That project is “Roadwork,” a take on the King 1981 novel which Pablo Trapero (“The Clan,” “Lion’s Den”) is set to direct and which both Muschietti’s will produce. Of the project Barbara Muschietti tells Radio Cantilo: “It’s a fantastic script. We hope to start shooting at the beginning of next year.”
Penned under his Richard Bachman pseudonym, the 1970s-set story has a newly divorced man grieving over the death of his son who is driven to mental instability when he learns that on top of all that – both his home and his workplace will be demolished to make way for an extension to an interstate highway.
No additional details have been revealed and it’s not clear which studio, if any, is on board to distribute the project.
