After a bit of teasing and confused comments giving us hope, it now seems fairly certain Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer will not be appearing in the upcoming “24: Legacy,” the new “expansion” rather than a reboot of the series.
However, the producers behind the show are happy to indicate that other surviving characters from the previous series could make a comeback. Aside from Jack, the show’s most regular character has been Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and executive producer Evan Katz suggests there’s a good chance she’ll be back. He tells TV Line:
“We have plans [for Chloe] … Right now, our clear priority is [establishing] these new characters, and have the audience build a relationship with them. But we have some surprises planned.”
Last month, executive producer Manny Coto hinted characters from the previous series might be back and called out Chloe by name as being “still out there” and the old and new faces might meet up as “these worlds may intersect.”
‘Legacy’ follows a military hero’s return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back — compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. “24: Legacy” premieres on Fox on February 5th.
