New details have emerged about “The Host,” “Snowpiercer” and “Okja” filmmaker Bong Joon-ho’s next film “Parasite”.
Variety reports that filming kicked off on Sunday at Goyang Aqua Studio in Korea with Song Kang-ho, Park So-dam, Lee Sun-kyun, Jo Yeo-jeong, and Choi Woo–shik starring. That studio is noted for its large tank used for underwater shooting.
The South Korean director tells the trade the title is a bit of a misnomer, as the film will feature zero parasites or alien creatures, rather it follows a family of four where each family member has ‘unique characteristics’.
The film will be his first Korean language film since 2009’s “Mother”. CJ Entertainment owns the film in Korea but international sales haven’t begun yet so there’s no worldwide release set for the film although it’s anticipated to open sometime next year.
