“The Last Witch Hunter” and “Sahara” director Breck Eisner is in talks to helm the second reboot of the famed horror franchise “Friday the 13th” at Paramount Pictures.
David Bruckner had been previously attached to helm the film from a script by “Hannibal” series scribe Nick Antosca. That incarnation fell apart, no word on what script Eisner will be using here, though it will likely involve hockey mask-wearing serial killer Jason Voorhees hacking his way through co-eds as usual.
Like the previous reboot in 2009, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes and its heads Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will produce the project. The film is currently aiming to be released sometime next year.
