It has taken years of deal making, but at last it’s there – Amazon Prime Video has finally become available on the Apple TV set-top device.
Amazon announced Tuesday that the Prime Video app is available on Apple TV 4K (and previous generations of the device) in more than 100 countries. Prime Video members streaming on the Apple TV 4K will be able to access Amazon’s lineup of 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) titles.
In addition to licensed movies and TV shows, Prime Video offers a lineup of original movies and series from Amazon Studios including “Bosch,” “The Grand Tour,” “The Tick” and next week’s launch of “Jean-Claude Van Johnson”.
The move also makes Apple TV the strongest streaming box for 4K content with its access to the catalogues of iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, VUDU, Youtube & UltraFlix (Roku, Fire, Chromecast & SHIELD don’t have access to iTunes’ 4K library).
