“24 Jump Street” Officially In The Works

Sony Pictures is officially moving forward with “24 Jump Street,” a follow-up to both 2012’s “21 Jump Street” and 2014’s “22 Jump Street”.

No plot details have been released, nor is it clear why the number 23 was skipped for the current film’s title.

Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Cube are ll reportedly in talks to return for the film, reprising their roles of Morton Schmidt, Greg Jenko and Captain Dickson respectively.

The first film, based on the classic FOX TV series from 1987, centered on police officers going undercover as high school students in an attempt to infiltrate a drug ring.

Rodney Rothman will direct the movie from a script he wrote with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Rothman also worked with Michael Bacall and Oren Uziel on the “22 Jump Street” script.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the two previous fims, will return as producers alongside Neal H. Moritz, Hill, Tatum, Matt Dines and Matt Dines.
