Wonder Birds Are 2019s Most Anticipated

A new Fandango poll of its users has revealed that “Wonder Woman 1984” has emerged as the most-anticipated film coming in 2019.

The Gal Gadot-led DC Comics adaptation tops the poll and comes in just ahead of the two Marvel Studios films of next year with “Black Widow” in second and “Eternals” in third. Rounding out the list are “Mulan,” “No Time to Die,” “A Quiet Place II,” “Birds of Prey,” “In the Heights,” “Soul” and “Fast and Furious 9”.

Fandango correspondent Nikki Novak says in a statement: “As we head into the next decade the new cinematic offerings look promising, with inspiring stories and new definitions of the word ‘hero.’ Adventure-seeking fans can’t wait for Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow, and Mulan, all films directed by women, to command the big screen. And with invigorating, fresh fare like Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights, Marvel’s The Eternals and Pixar’s Soul, the 2020 box office will offer a cornucopia of welcome surprises.”

The poll follows on from one by the IMDb two weeks ago which had “Birds of Prey” in at the top spot, followed by “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “No Time to Die,” “Black Widow,” “Mulan,” “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Dune,” “The King’s Man” and “Fast and Furious 9”.
