Executive producer Jon Favreau has confirmed that the already in production second season of “The Mandalorian” is set to arrive on Disney+ in Fall 2020.
Favreau made the announcement on his Twitter today, mere hours after the Taika Waititi-directed first season finale hit the Disney+ streaming service to some of the show’s best reviews yet. Said tweet also included a Gamorrean Guard figurine, hinting the characters could return for the new season.
No plot details have been confirmed yet for the new season. Carl Weathers is also reported to be directing an episode in season 2 along with Favreau who are the only two set names. Dave Filoni and Taika Waititi are also expected to return behind the camera, though nothing has been confirmed as yet.
The inaugural original series for Disney+, “The Mandalorian” now finishes up with no major new Disney+ series to fill its wake until the first of the Marvel shows, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” arrives late Summer next year.
