Winston Duke (“Us,” “Black Panther”) has been cast in the lead role in the Apple TV+ basketball-themed drama series “Swagger” which hails from NBA star Kevin Durant.
The story explores the world of youth basketball, and the players, their families, and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption.
Duke will play Ike, a youth basketball coach and former star player in the series which is inspired by Durant’s youth basketball experiences. Durant will executive produce.
The series will be written and directed by Reggie Rock Bythewood (“Shots Fired,” “Biker Boyz”) who also serves as showrunner on the Imagine Television Studios and CBS TV Studios production. Shooting begins later this month.
