After a seven year gap between “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “The French Dispatch,” Wes Anderson seems to be making up for lost time on the live-action filmmaking front.
‘Dispatch’ only opened the other month, but Anderson recently completed filming on his next feature “Asteroid City” in Spain. As we know, Tom Hanks and Margot Robbie joins various Anderson film regulars in that movie.
Now though, it turns out that Anderson is already prepping to shoot his next film imminently. Cinematographer Robert Yeoman, a frequent collaborator with Anderson, tells Will Mavity that the pair will prep production next month in the UK for yet another new Anderson film which will commence filming early next year.
Specifics of that film are under wraps. “Asteroid City” is expected to release in 2022, so it’s likely the new one will arrive in 2023. Any kind of story & character details are under wraps.
