Two More “After” Sequels Are In The Works

A third and fourth film in the “After” franchise have been confirmed, the news arriving before even the second film “After We Collided” has opened.

Based on Anna Todd’s bestselling novels, which started out as Harry Styles fan-fiction on the website Wattpad, the 2019 first film grossed over $69 million at the global box-office from a budget of $14 million.

It followed a dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend to her high school sweetheart who enters her first semester in college where she meets the dark and mysterious Hardin Scott, a brooding rebel who makes her question all she thought she knew about herself and what she wants out of life.

Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin are reprise their roles as Tessa and Hardin in the second film with the pair confirming last week in a tag-team announcement on social media (via Vulture) that the third and fourth are coming based on the newly announced novels “After We Fell” and “After Ever After”:

“There have been lots of people working really hard behind the scenes and we can finally tell you guys that the third and the fourth movies are officially going into production.”

Todd has penned the script for the sequel with Mario Celaya, while “Cruel Intentions” helmer Roger Kumble directs. That film will be released in theatres and VOD on October 23rd.
