Filmmaker James Gunn says that he’s excited about a second season of his upcoming “The Suicide Squad” spin-off series “Peacemaker” should HBO Max be high on the performance of the first, saying: “I would like to do a Season 2, they just have to tell me that they want to do it.” “Peacemaker” hits the service in January. Victories Greater Than Death
A series adaptation of Charlie Jane Anders’ novel “Victories Greater Than Death” is in development at Amazon and Outlier Society. No writer is currently attached, but Michael B. Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, Jane Anders, Dan Halstead, and Nate Miller will executive produce.
In the series, a high school girl is hiding a deep secret: she’s a clone of an alien charged with saving the galaxy and the keeper of an interplanetary beacon that will activate someday soon and call her home. [Source: Variety]
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
Disney Plus has renewed “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” for a third season which follows the Wildcats as they begin summer break at sleepaway camp where there’s campfires, showmances and curfew-less shenanigans.
Creator and executive producer Tim Federle returns while production will relocate from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles for filming later this year. [Source: Variety]
Colin in Black & White
Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for the biographical drama series “Colin in Black & White” co-created by Oscar nominee Ava DuVernay and activist/ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The six-part limited series chronicles Kaepernick’s coming of age story, tackling the obstacles of race, class, and culture as the Black adopted child of a white family. It premieres on October 29th on Netflix.
