Writer-producer Lena Waithe has finished a pilot script draft for “Open,” a new series on open marriage which is being setup at Amazon Studios. Waithe says the series will explore society’s conservative approach to marriage – how infidelity is accepted as commonplace but open relationships and marriages are seen as bizarre. Sorcerers
AMC has optioned the rights to Maurice Broaddus and Otis Whitaker’s psychedelic urban fantasy novella “Sorcerers” with plans to adapt it into a series. The story follows Malik Hutchins, a 30-year-old man from Harlem who comes into his own as a hip hop-inspired sorcerer. [Source: Deadline]
Hawkeye
Marvel Studios concept artist Andy Park has released a higher quality version of his design for Kate Bishop, the character who will make her live-action debut in the upcoming “Hawkeye” series for the Disney+ service.
A low-res version was seen in a featurette last year. “Bumblebee” actress Hailee Steinfeld has apparently finalized her deal to star as Kate, but Marvel has yet to confirm.
