A Man on the Inside
Netflix has announced a November 20th premiere date for the eight-episode second season of its comedy series “A Man on the Inside”, starring Ted Danson, who is joined by his real-life wife, Mary Steenburgen, as free-spirited music teacher Mona.
When a mysterious blackmailer targets Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield), Charles is enlisted to go undercover as a professor. Also starring are Gary Cole as billionaire Brad Vinick along with Jason Mantzoukas, Constance Marie and David Strathairn. [Source: TV Line]
The Rainmaker
USA Network’s legal drama “The Rainmaker,” based on the John Grisham novel and the first original scripted series under the Versant name, drew 2.2 million viewers in its first three days. That’s the most-viewed original series premiere in the Versant portfolio since the launch of Syfy’s “Resident Alien” in 2021. The series has reportedly reached 6.3 million viewers on linear TV to date. [Source: Deadline]
The Institute
Ahead of tonight’s season finale, MGM+ has renewed its TV series adaptation of the 2019 Stephen King novel “The Institute” for a second season following the show scoring the network’s best premiere ever numbers. The second season will consist of eight episodes.
The series follows the story of teen genius Luke Ellis (Joe Freeman), who is kidnapped and awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all possess unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Ben Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last. [Source: Variety]
Star Wars Visions
Lucasfilm has released the new key art from the third volume of the animated anthology series “Star Wars: Visions” which returns on the streamer on October 29th. The series will feature nine brand-new anime shorts all made by Japanese studios. [Source: StarWars.com]
