Frank Grillo (“Captain America: Civil War,” “Kingdom”) has been set for a recurring role on the fifth season of Showtime’s drama series “Billions” starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis. Grillo will recur as Nico Tanner, a modern artist, and joins the likes of Julianna Marguiles and Corey Stoll who will also appear this season. Netflix has cancelled its post-apocalyptic dramedy “Daybreak” after one season. Co-creator Aron Eli Coleite revealed the news of the series’ cancellation on Twitter, the word coming a month-and-a-half after the show’s launch.
Based on the eponymous comics by Brian Ralph, the story followed an eclectic group of survivors as they navigate a strange and treacherous world. Dubbed a bloody coming-of-age samurai saga, the series developed cult following but found it challenging to break through. [Source: Twitter]
Brian Yorkey (“13 Reasons Why”) will reportedly adapt young adult author Neal Shusterman’s upcoming book “Game Changer” into a drama TV series for Netflix. ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are teaming up with writer Brigette Hales for “Epic,” a romantic anthology series set in the fairy tale universe of Disney. The potential series unfolds in an Enchanted Forest-like place and will focus on a new set of heroes, villains, and magical creatures with the show to pay homage to Disney’s classics.
