“Outlander” leading man Sam Heughan is set to play legendary actor Paul Newman in an untitled biopic about famed “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” author Roald Dahl and his wife and “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” actress Patricia Neal.
Previously titled “An Unquiet Life,” the film follows the early 1960s period when Dahl and Neal retreated to the English countryside to bring up their young family. The pair find their relationship put to the test, and ultimately strengthened, by tragic events.
Filming wraps this week on the production which stars Keeley Hawes (“Bodyguard”) as Neal and Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”) as Dahl. Newman co-starred with Neal in 1963 classic “Hud” for which she won an Oscar. John Hay helms the film for Align and Goldcrest Features.
