The Mysterious Benedict Society
Disney+ has renewed its young adult series “The Mysterious Benedict Society” for a second season again based on the book series by Trenton Lee Stewart. Filming begins in early 2022.
The second season follows the four gifted orphans who reunite a year later to foil the nefarious ’emergency’ created by Dr. L.D. Curtain (Tony Hale), the twin brother of the eccentric Mr. Benedict (also Hale). [Source: Variety]
Raybearer
Gina Atwater (“Westworld,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) has done a multi-year overall deal with Netflix to create, produce, direct and write new prestige series and other projects centered on traditionally underrepresented characters.
Her first project there will be a TV series adaptation of Jordan Ifueko’s West African-inspired fantasy young novel “Raybearer” to be produced by Sugar23 and Macro Television Studios. [Source: Variety]
Curb Your Enthusiasm
HBO has announced that the eleventh season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”will return on October 24th and released a new concept teaser for it.
Star Larry David said in a statement: “Believe me, I’m as upset about this as you are. One day I can only hope that HBO will come to their senses and grant me the cancellation I so richly deserve.”
Dave Chappelle: The Closer
Dave Chappelle has announced “The Closer,” his sixth Netflix special, which will hit the streaming platform on October 5th. The title will also mark the end of his cycle of Netflix specials.
