Concept art from Colin Trevorrow’s “Star Wars: Duel of the Fates,” the ‘unmade original version’ of the ninth episodic saga movie that became J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” has seemingly leaked online.
The art follows in the wake of the film’s script by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly which popped up and was subsequently verified as legit. It’s likely the same leakers are back as the art appeared on Reddit and sources for The Playlist confirm the concept art is real.
The art certainly matches details in the script leak the other week from a First Order-occupied Coruscant to battles between Kylo Ren and Luke’s Force Ghost to an ‘Empire-esque’ training/nightmare sequence with Darth Vader. There’s also the appearance of Palpatine’s own Sith master, Tor Valum.
Trevorrow’s vision is certainly very different to Abrams’, and one that fits better with the story threads left at the end of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” rather than ‘Skywalker’ which went out of its way to ‘fix’ them.
