A trailer is out for the new feature-length documentary “Class Action Park” which explores the infamous real-life New Jersey amusement park called Action Park where many people got hurt on unsafe rides, and six died.
Chris Charles Scott and Seth Porges released a short film about the park in 2013 and have now expanded that into a full feature looking at how the park’s popularity in the 1980s matched its dangerous reputation for poorly designed and unsafe rides; intoxicated visitors and under-aged and undertrained staff.
The park, which included a water slide that featured a loop-de-loop, has now entered the realm of myth even as the actual story is darker and madder than you might expect. The aim is to get the film on the festival circuit sometime soon. No official date has been set.
