The second remake of the cult slasher film “Black Christmas” will boast one difference from its predecessors – it’s holding back on the terror.
The MPAA has officially rated Blumhouse’s new take a PG-13 for “violence, terror, thematic content involving sexual assault, language, sexual material and drinking.” Both the 1974 original and the 2006 first remake were R-rated affairs.
Sophia Takal helms the new take about an all-girl college sorority whose members are being killed by an unknown stalker over the holiday. But the killer is about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t willing to become hapless victims as they mount a fight to the finish.
Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue, Caleb Eberhardt and Cary Elwes co-star. “Black Christmas” will be released on Friday, December 13th.
