The “Glass Onion” Theme Song Released

Netflix

Ahead of its one-week theatrical release on November 23rd, composer Nathan Johnson has premiered the theme music from the upcoming “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” on Spotify.

The soundtrack album debuts November 25t. In a statement, the film’s director Rian Johnson says he and Johnson drew a lot of inspiration from Nino Rota’s iconic score from the 1978 all-star film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “Death on the Nile”.

Rian John says: “We wanted it to be big and expansive and romantic and lush” as opposed to the first film, which was more a “very chamber music, sharp strings-type score”. That said, there are references to the prior film’s score built in here.

The new film follows Daniel Craig’s Detective Benoit Blanc as he travels to Greece, along with a boatload of suspects, to attend a getaway on a tech billionaire’s island. With murder afoot, he must figure out who is responsible.

Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick and Ethan Hawke co-star. The film will follow its brief cinema run with a release on Netflix just before Christmas.
