This year’s Game Awards have just been handed out and “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” took the top honor of game of the year, beating out “Control,” “Death Stranding,” “Resident Evil 2,” “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” and “The Outer Worlds” for the title. It also scored the best action game honor.
Other winners include “Apex Legends” for best multiplayer, “Fortnite” for best ongoing game, “Disco Elysium” for best RPG and best indie game, “Beat Saber” for best VR game, “Fire Emblem: Three Houses” for best strategy game, “Devil May Cry 5” for best action game, “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” best fighting game, “Luigi’s Mansion 3” best family game, “League of Legends” best e-sports game, and “Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled” best sports game.
“Death Stranding” won best game direction, best performance (for Mads Mikkelsen’s work) and best score. “Control” won best art direction, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” best audio design, “Disco Elysium” best narrative and “Destiny 2” best community support.
Along with previously reported on Xbox Series X reveal, the game awards also included the first announced PlayStation 5 game title – “Godfall” – which hails from Gearbox Software. There was also a whole bunch of new trailers which you can see below.
