New Japan Pro-Wrestling legend Hirooki Goto has reportedly joined the cast of the new live-action “Street Fighter” film at Legendary Entertainment and Capcom.
Goto will reportedly play the role of E. Honda, one of the original eight playable characters from “Street Fighter II”. He is both a professional sumo wrestler and sentÅ proprietor with a distinct look.
Five of the other original SF2 line-up have also been cast including Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Jason Momoa as Blanka, and WWE star Cody Rhodes as Guile.
Casting has not been announced for the two other characters from that 1991 game – Dhalsim and Zangief. However other cast that has been announced includes Roman Reigns as Akuma, Orville Peck as Vega, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson as Balrog.
The project is slated to begin shooting next month in Australia with plot details currently under wraps. Peter ‘Navy’ Tuiasosopo played E. Honda in the previous 1994 live-action adaptation.
Goto’s wrestling career started in 2003 and he’s held over ten championships with the company since then.
