If there’s a horndog of the current “Star Wars” film series it’s John Boyega’s Finn. From his crush on Rey in ‘Force Awakens’, to Rose and him sharing affection in ‘Last Jedi’, not to mention the homoerotic flirting with Poe in both, Boyega’s Finn is one of the few characters in this family-friendly and chaste galaxy far far away who is even vaguely attempting to get a leg over.
Now details of “Star Wars: Resistance Reborn,” the new in-canon novel by author Rebecca Roanhorse, have emerged on Reddit (via The Playlist) and reportedly there’s a scene between Finn and Poe that sheds light on the current standing of the relationship between Finn and the objects of his affection.
In essence? It sounds like new pants aren’t the only blue things he’ll sport as this wannabe romantic has struck out twice. Poe asks Finn if he and Rey are involved and Finn says: “No, nothing like that. Just friends.” Poe then asks about Rose and Finn says: “Oh. We talked about it, and Crait was… a moment. But that’s it. Friends there too.”
This would suggest Rose’s role in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” could play out a bit different from what some are expecting. In any case, whether Finn ends up with someone or is left alone to play with his lightsaber, we’ll find out when “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” opens on December 20th.
