Sony Pictures held off releasing any trailers or stills from 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” until late August at the COVID-delayed 2021 CinemaCon – around three-and-a-half months before the film’s release.
If they follow that same pattern, then the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will release its teaser trailer in early-mid April. However a new report at Trailer Track suggests the studio is currently considering two different options.
The first is that the clip will play in cinemas with “Project Hail Mary” (which Sony is releasing internationally) starting on March 20th, with an online drop the following week. If that happens, the bootlegs will almost certainly leak online before the official release.
The outlet also claims that another option is for Sony to follow the ‘No Way Home’ playbook and wait until its CinemaCon panel on Monday, April 13th.
The trailer would then be unveiled both to the audience and online, while attendees at the event would get to see more exclusive footage.
The report comes as several other scoopers suggest it could go online any day now, before the “Project Hail Mary” release.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to hit cinemas on July 31st.
