Oscar-nominated cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (“The Avengers,” “Godzilla,” “Bad Times At The El Royale”) has reportedly signed on to serve as cinematographer on the third Marvel Studios and Sony PIctures’ “Spider-Man” film says Discussing Film.
Filming was scheduled to commence production this July, but that seems highly unlikely now which has also thrown its July 16th 2021 release date into question.
That’s not the only Marvel Studios film making a key crew hire today. Film Music Reporter has announced that Lorne Balfe (“Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” “Bad Boys For Life”) is taking over as composer on the score for “Black Widow”.
Alexandre Desplat (“The Shape of Water”) signed on to serve as composer on the film earlier this year, but that’s no longer the case. No reason has been given for his departure.
“Black Widow” was to open early May but it’s release date is now in question.
