Shea Whigham Joins Mission Impossible 7

Shea Whigham has joined the cast of the upcoming seventh film in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise. The news was announced by director Christopher McQuarrie, adding the caption “You won’t see him coming…” in relation to his character which is still under wraps.

He joins Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff who are also hopping onboard the franchise alongside returnees Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. The most recent film, ‘Fallout,’ scored both the highest reviews for the franchise and the largest gross with over $790 million worldwide.

Whigham has had a huge career surge these past few years with major roles in “Fargo,” “Homecoming,” “Waco,” “Agent Carter,” “Boardwalk Empire,” and “Vice Principals” on television, while film credits of late include “Joker,” “Vice,” “First Man,” “Bad Times at the El Royale,” “Sicario 2: Soldado,” “Death Note,” “Kong: Skull Island,” “Star Trek Beyond,” “Knight of Cups,” “American Hustle,” “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Fast and Furious 6”.

Filming on both the movies is expected to happen across much of 2020 ahead of the seventh film’s release July 23rd 2021 and the eighth in 2022.
