Some new details about the fourth “Rush Hour” film have emerged via Puck’s Kim Masters, who spoke with various sources and even had a brief text exchange with the film’s director Brett Ratner.

The source claims the film will have a budget well over $100 million, and some of that money will come from Saudi Arabia, the country also backing David Ellison’s bid for his Paramount Skydance to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery.

Masters texted Ratner, who confirmed that: “The budget is over 100m”. Paramount will reportedly be handling distribution for Warner Bros. in exchange for a percentage fee in the double digits.

Ratner previously shopped around the fourth film, with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker returning, but no studio was biting. Once U.S. President Donald Trump stepped in and strongly urged Ellison to make it happen, the film got greenlit.

Ratner just filmed a $40 million documentary about Melania Trump for Amazon/MGM and shot 2011’s “Tower Heist” comedy inside Trump Tower.

The original “Rush Hour” film followed two police officers who are forced to work together to rescue a Chinese diplomat’s abducted daughter, and was a huge hit with $244 million globally.
