Turns out network procedurals can still draw eyeballs.
The series premiere of the Niecy Nash-led spin-off “The Rookie: Feds” has reportedly pulled in 6.3 million viewers after one week of multiplatform viewing, its Live+7 audience jumping by 400% from its Live+Same Day audience.
As a result, the show marks ABC’s highest-rated series debut since “Big Sky” in late 2020, its most-viewed debut since “Rebel” in April 2020, and the biggest Live+7 increase for a new series on any network so far this season.
It’s not the only one doing well. The second season premiere of “Ghosts” jumped 50% after one week of multiplatform viewing, jumping from 6.15 million Live+Same Day viewers to 9.23 million Live+7. That beats every other network comedy premiere of the season, including ratings juggernaut “Young Sheldon”.
The news follows on the heels of the Bruckheimer Television-produced drama “Fire Country” pulling in 5.74 million viewers with its Live+Same Day series debut on Friday.
