Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Mark Kolpack, the VFX supervisor for ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,” says that filming on the show’s sixth season has just wrapped. Post-production and visual effects work on the show will continue for a few months ahead of the series’ return sometime during the Summer. [Source: Twitter
A Naked Singularity
John Boyega (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Detroit”) is reportedly in talks to star in the legal drama “A Naked Singularity” at Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.
Based on Sergio De La Pava’s debut novel, the story centers on a successful New York public defender whose life begins to unravel after he loses his first case. “IT” co-scribe Chase Palmer will direct from a script by David Matthews. [Source: Variety]
The Code
Nash Grier, Nia Sioux, twins Bianca and Chiara D’Ambrosio, and Nina Kiri have all been set as leads in Tony Aloupis’s sci-fi adventure feature “The Code” for Origin Entertainment and Hacienda Film Co. Filming is currently underway.
The story is set in the distant future, in an age where humans have enjoyed centuries of peace, prosperity, and immortality due to a genetic modification called ‘The Code. In this utopian society, a small band of rebels dares to question whether they want to live forever. [Source: Deadline]
Mr. Nice Guy
“Crash” producer Cathy Schulman and Gaspin Media have acquired the rights to Jennifer Miller and Jason Feifer’s just-published novel “Mr. Nice Guy” with plans to develop it for television. “Fresh Off The Boat” co-executive producer Laura McCreary will pen the half-hour dramedy series.
The story centers on Carmen and Lucas, a pair of magazine writers who unknowingly work for the same publication when they have a one-night stand. Their subsequent individual reviews of the encounter go viral, so they decide to continue the relationship and write weekly duelling columns reviewing each other’s performance in bed. Van Helsing
Syfy has picked up a fourth season of “Van Helsing” which sees showrunner Neil LaBute departing. Jonathan Walker (“Continuum,” “Wu Assassins”) will take over as showrunner for the thirteen new episodes to air in 2019. LaBute will still write three scripts for the season. [Source: The Live Feed]
