Quick News: Onslaught, Caine, Lioness, Tangled

Onslaught
Ahead of its world premiere at Comic Con next weekend, Adam Wingard’s thriller “Onslaught” has reportedly received an R rating for “strong bloody violence, some gore, sexual material/nudity, and language”. A24 is releasing the film in cinemas on September 4th.

Adria Arjona stars as a struggling mother who aims to protect her loved ones from a rogue squad of genetically engineered super-soldiers that have escaped from a secret military base while mercenaries try to contain them. Rebecca Hall and Dan Stevens co-star. [Source: WoR]

Caine
Filming has officially wrapped on “Caine,” the “John Wick” spin-off both starring and directed by Donnie Yen. Yen reprises his role as the blind assassin title character who has been freed from his obligations to  The High Table.

Rina Sawayama returns as Akira while Mason Thames and Dacre Montgomery co-star. Mattson Tomlin penned the script. [Source: Instagram]

Lioness
Paramount+ has premiered the trailer for the third season of its Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman-led action thriller series “Lioness” which returns on August 2nd

In the new season Joe walks the line between duty and home as unseen forces circle her world. Patterns appear where they shouldn’t, names vanish, and paths rearrange. Guided by Kaitlyn and Westfield, Joe confronts enemies operating in the shadows, leaving her to reckon with a war that now reaches into every part of her life.

Tangled
New set photos have emerged from Disney’s live-action “Tangled” remake showing Milo Manheim’s Flynn Rider in costume as well as Teagan Croft’s Rapunzel in a large blonde wig that falls to her knees. It’s expected CG will be used to manipulate the hair for various sequences.

Shooting on the project is currently underway in Spain with Kathryn Hahn and Diego Luna co-starring. Michael Gracey is directing the film from a script written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor
