Quick News Escape Guns Creature Boys

Escape from L.A.
Shout! Factory has announce a plan to release an all-new definitive collector’s edition of John Carpenter’s 1996 sequel “Escape from L.A.” on April 28th. Shout! Factory is reportedly trying to secure a new transfer of the film along with packing the set with extras. Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken returns in the story in which he must wade through L.A.’s ruined landmarks to retrieve a doomsday device. [Source: Blu-ray.com]

Guns Akimbo
The Daniel Radcliffe-led action-comedy feature “Guns Akimbo” has finally set a release with Saban Films opening the movie in a limited run from February 28th. Jason Lei Howden helms the film about a video game developer who fights for survival in a gladiator-type battle for an audience of a dark website in order to rescue his kidnapped ex-girlfriend. Untitled Creature Feature
“The Boondocks” and “Everybody Hates Chris” writer Rodney Barnes has reportedly been tapped to pen a new creature feature in the works at New Regency and Outlier Society.

“Kong Skull Island” director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and actor Michael B. Jordan produce the project that is based on an idea by Vogt-Roberts and set in his hometown of Detroit. No title or plot details have been revealed. [Source: Heat Vision]

Bad Boys For Life
Sony Pictures has unveiled a new featurette for the anticipated action-comedy sequel “Bad Boys for Life” with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reminiscing about the first two films, how things have changed for them and how this will bring back nostalgic feelings for fans of the original. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah helm this third entry in the series which opens January 17th.
