Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios President Sam Register has revealed that “new iterations of Ben 10 are currently in active development”.

That has spurred rumours that a new animated project is already in the works based on the franchise. The franchise gets a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday morning, where an announcement is likely. [Source: The Wrap]

Skeletons
Sony Pictures and JT Mollner’s new creature feature “Skeletons” is set for a June 4th 2027 theatrical release. Brie Larson, Kyle Gallner, Daithí Ó Haragáin, Willa Fitzgerald, Ione Skye, John Goodman and Keith Carradine co-star.

The story is said to center on a young boy’s relationship with his mother, who is secured in a cage every night. Filming began last month on the project penned by Mollner and Brian Duffield based on author Philip Fracassi’s short story “Fail-Safe”. [Source: THR]

Lizard Music
10-year-old Theo Clark Leber has landed a starring role opposite Dwayne Johnson in Benny Safdie’s adaptation of Daniel Pinkwater’s 1976 novel “Lizard Music” for Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists.

The story follows a boy (Leber) who stumbles upon a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music, a hidden door to the extraordinary swings open. His search leads him to an eccentric and whimsical old man nicknamed The Chicken Man (Johnson), and his beloved companion, a 111-year-old chicken named Claudia. [Source: Deadline]

The Conjuring: First Communion
Matthias Schweighöfer (“Army of Thieves”) is set for a role in the horror prequel “The Conjuring: First Communion” at New Line. Rodrigue Huart is directing from a script by Richard Naing & Ian Goldberg. Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix lead the film as young versions of married paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
