Zach Cregger’s box-office topping horror feature “Barbarian” has set an October 25th premiere date on HBO Max and VOD services. Alongside a 4k Ultra HD release, the digital version will also include never-before-seen bonus scenes, behind-the-scenes footage and extra commentary. [Source: HBO Max]
The Strangers
Ema Horvath (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”) will join Madelaine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez and Gabriel Basso in the remake of 2008 home invasion horror tale “The Strangers” at Lionsgate. Filming is currently underway in Slovakia.
Renny Harlin is directing the remake which will follow a couple driving cross-country when their car breaks down in Oregon. They’re forced to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, where they are terrorized from dusk till dawn by three masked strangers. [Source: Deadline]
Kindred
FX’s series adaptation of Octavia E. Butler’s novel “Kindred” is set to premiere Tuesday, December 13th, exclusively on Hulu, with all eight episodes releasing at once. The series will soon be available on Disney+ under the Star banner, or Star+, in all other territories.
Mallori Johnson, Micah Stock, Ryan Kwanten, Gayle Rankin, Austin Smith, David Alexander Kaplan, Sophina Brown and Sheria Irving star in the series about a young Black woman and aspiring writer who finds herself being thrown about in time between modern day Los Angeles, and a 19th-century plantation tied to her family’s past. Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me
Apple TV+ has released the trailer for “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me,” an Apple Original Films documentary about the singer and “Only Murders in the Building” star’s struggles with mental health and journey through such health issues as lupus and bipolar disorder. The film streams from November 4th.
