Quibi Does “Princess Bride” At Home Fan Film

Quibi is trying to lure in new subscribers with a celebrity homemade fan film version of Rob Reiner’s family comedy-fantasy classic “The Princess Bride” that was produced virtually.

Filmmaker Jason Reitman proposed the idea and recruited celebrities dozens of celebrities to work on the project which would raise funds for the World Central Kitchen charity.

Reiner himself is taking on the late Peter Falk’s role of grandfather in the project while Fred Savage will reprise his role of the grandson 33 years later.

The project also stars Jennifer Garner, Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, Common, Tiffany Haddish, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Chris Pine, Annabelle Wallis, Hugh Jackman, J.K. Simmons, Elijah Wood, Jon Hamm, Beanie Feldstein, Lucas Hedges, Jenna Ortega, Jack Black, David Oyelowo, Keegan-Michael Key, Ari Graynor, Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad, Andy Serkis, Diego Luna, David Spade, Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford, Don Johnson, Ari Graynor, Dave Bautista, Dennis Haysbert, Thomas Lennon, Rainn Wilson, Jason Segel, Stephen Merchant, Mackenzie Davis, Taika Waititi, Patton Oswalt and Zazie Beetz.

The project will be released on Quibi chapter by chapter for two weeks, starting this Monday. The news comes as Quibi has also today renewed one of its most popular series – “Chrissy’s Court” – for a second season.
