PS4 On November 13th, XB1 On November 27th?

We know the prices, we know the specs, we even know most of the launch games. What we don’t know specifically is when Sony and Microsoft intend to release the next generation of video game consoles beyond fairly nebulous reports of a November or Holiday release.

That last question however became a bit clearer this week as online retail outlets appear to have leaked the dates of both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

First up, is now listing the Xbox One for a Wednesday November 27th 2013 release, the day before Thanksgiving. That puts Microsoft in prime position to take advantage of this year’s Black Friday sales on Friday November 29th.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed the date, in fact they issued a denial to IGN a few hours ago saying: “We have not informed our retail partners about a specific launch date for the Xbox One. It is commonplace for retailers to put placeholders dates and prices into our system until they are given a specific date and price. We are excited to release the Xbox One in November 2013.”

However, Sony might be trying to beat it to the punch. Two Dutch online retail outlets have listed the PlayStation 4 as having a European release date of two weeks earlier – Wednesday November 13th.

While Sony has not confirmed this date, a few other retailers have since acknowledged the date. Some of the same retailers are also suggesting a November 21st European release for the Xbox One.
