Peacock has announced the lead cast for “Bel-Air,” the dramatic reimagining of the Will Smith-led 1990s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.
As previously reported, newcomer Jabari Banks stars as Will. He’ll be joined by Adrian Holmes as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks, Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones as Hilary Banks, Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks, Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey, Jordan L. Jones as Jazz and Simone Joy Jones as Lisa.
Set in modern-day America, this offers a different interpretation of the original premise and follows Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.
T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson serve as co-showrunners/executive producers. Morgan Cooper, who wrote and directed the spec trailer, serves as director/co-writer/executive producer.
