Paramount Sets Writers For More “Transformers”

Paramount Pictures has hired screenwriters Joby Harold (“King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” “John Wick: Chapter 2”) and James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac,” “Murder Mystery”) to pen the next two live-action “Transformers” movies.

Both scribes will each only pen one of the new entries, with both projects to be developed simultaneously. A director or directors have not yet been named. It’s also not clear if the new “Transformers” represents a continuation of the Michael Bay films or will be a reboot – though one is rumored to be based on the “Beast Wars” spin-off.

Hasbro Studios has expressed an interest in building its own cinematic universe, and a reboot could allow other properties from “G.I. Joe” to “ROM” to “Micronauts” to crossover.
