New Trailers Villains Synonyms Pretenders

The trailer is out for “Villains,” a twisted spin on the home invasion thriller. Bill Skarsgard and Maika Monroe play Mickey and Jules, lovers on the run. When their car dies after a gas station robbery, they break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels.

What they find instead is a dark secret and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners (Jeffrey Donovan and Kyra Sedgwick) who will do anything to keep it from getting out. Dan Berk and Robert Olsen (“The Stakelander”) penned the script and direct. “Villains” opens on September 20th.

Next up, the first U.S. trailer for Nadav Lapid’s “Synonyms” is here and follows a young Israeli man and his experiences when attempting to assimilate to French culture. Tom Mercier, Quentin Dolmaire, and Louise Chevillotte star in the film which won this year’s top Berlin Film Festival prize of the Golden Bear. It is currently slated to open in North America starting October 25th.

The latest of James Franco’s many directorial efforts, “The Pretenders,” has released its trailer. Juno Temple, Brian Cox, Dennis Quaid, Shameik Moore, and Jane Levy star int he film about a French New Wave obsessed film student and his best friend who are both seduced by a mysterious actress.

The longer they know each other, the more they realize they don’t truly know the real Catherine. After years of sex, betrayal, and collateral damage, the three careen into a lifestyle that leaves one of them fighting for their life. “The Pretenders” debuts in cinemas on September 27th.
