Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is tipped to be one of the year’s most successful films, and early box-office predictions suggest that will be true.
Box-Office Theory reports that the film looks like to debut domestically to somewhere around $228 million in its opening weekend, though the range could drop as low as $212 million and as high as $255 million as we get closer to release.
If it pans out, that would certainly be the biggest opening of the year, one of the top five biggest openings of all time, and just shy of the $260 million opening of the previous movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.
It could also potentially beat the entire worldwide gross of “Supergirl” in just three days. Worldwide, ‘Brand New Day’ opening weekend projections stand at somewhere around $550 million.
The only other film to come close this month domestically is “The Odyssey”, which is predicted to debut to around $118 million. Also faring well is the “Moana” live-action remake at $62 million.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to debut in cinemas on July 31st. New photos are out of The Hand’s leader and Boomerang in the film.
