Netflix has announced plans for multiple film adaptations of Annie Barrows’ illustrated children’s book series “Ivy & Bean”.
The live-action films, each of which will be penned by “Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer” scribe Kathy Waugh, will be one-hour in length and geared toward family audiences.
The books follow two unlikely friends – the loud and fearless Bean, and the thoughtful and quiet Ivy. Twelve books have been penned thus far.
The tone is described as “safe, fun and elevated comedy-adventures allowing the youngest members of the family an opportunity to see themselves as the star of their own story.”
