Netflix has handed out an eight-episode series order for the half-hour romantic comedy series “Dash & Lily” to be produced by musician/actor Nick Jonas and “Stranger Things” producer Shawn Levy.
Based on Rachel Cohn and David Levithan’s novel “Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares,” Austin Abrams (“Euphoria”) and Midori Francis (“Good Boys”), the story follows a whirlwind holiday romance between cynical Dash (Austin Abrams) and optimistic Lily (Midori Francis) as they trade dares, dreams and desires in a notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York City.
The pair find they have more in common than they would have expected. The series co-stars Dante Brown as Dash’s best friend and Troy Iwata as Lily’s older brother. Keana Marie, James Saito and Jodi Long have recurring roles.
Joe Tracz is adapting the book and will serve as showrunner and production on the series is underway in New York for a 2020 premiere. Josh Barry, Brad Silberling, Levy and Jonas executive produce while Brad Silberling helms the first two episodes.
