Jennifer Lawrence will star and Adam McKay will direct the meteor-themed comedy “Don’t Look Up” which Netflix has just picked up.
The story follows two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.
McKay wrote the comedy and will produce with Kevin Messick. Production will begin in April for a release later this year.
The project is separate from “Bad Blood,” the Legendary Entertainment feature about the Theranos startup scandal which still has McKay set to direct and Lawrence attached to star as Elizabeth Holmes.
