It looks like production is about to get underway on Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” with the first set photos going online today along with one of the film’s key stars tweeting that he’s ready to get to work.
Jeffrey Wright, who plays Commissioner Gordon in the new DC Comics adaptation, tweeted on Saturday: “Woke up jet-lagged at 10pm thinking I was late. 4:45am now. Off to Gotham” and added a bat emoji to the tweet.
Meanwhile a Twitter user has snapped photos of vehicles with Gotham insignia – including a news van, a cop car, a taxi and a water & power utility van – in London where filming will take place. From the sounds of it crew was setting up for a location shoot.
“The Batman” will star Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Peter Sarsgaard also stars in a secret role.
“The Batman” opens in theaters June 2021.
