Leto Not Thrilled With “Masters of the Universe”

Jared Leto, who voices Skeletor in the upcoming live-action “Masters of the Universe” film, is reportedly ‘not thrilled’ about the film or his absence from the movie’s marketing push.

Fans of the film have noticed Leto’s conspicuous lack of promotion of the movie – he didn’t attend the recent LA world premiere, wasn’t on hand at CinemaCon or Comic Con and has done no promotional push for the film through his social media.

A new report from Puck News (via AV Club) adds that Leto “wasn’t thrilled” with the film but not for the reasons you might expect.

They indicate that Leto was reportedly paid $5 million for the role and, at Amazon’s request, is complying with remaining silent about his involvement with the film.

Leto’s participation in a project isn’t a selling point these days after a series of high-profile flops in recent years, including “TRON: Ares” and “Morbius,” not to mention headlines about inappropriate behaviour that emerged last year.

Nonetheless, reviews have praised Leto’s work in the film and indicate his Skeletor is one of the highlights. The film is set to open in cinemas on June 5th.
