Comedian Kevin Hart has set up “Bye Bye Bye” at Universal Pictures, a female-driven dramedy remake of the 2011 Korean film “Sunny”.
The story follows a group of adult friends who reunite twenty years after high school when one of them is stricken with cancer. The new take, however, is described as a “fun spin on the classic mother-daughter story”.
Hart’s Hartbeat Productions (“Night School”) and CJ Entertainment will produce the project which “Insecure” writer/producer Amy Aniobi will pen. Aniobi is also currently penning the Issa Rae-led film “American Princess” for Fox.
