“Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jumanji” alum Karen Gillan is set to voice the title character in the animated musical series “Rhona Who Lives by the River” for the Disney+ service and 20th Television Animation.
Stoopid Buddy Stoodios will provide animation for the series which follows the adventures of Rhona #3 (Gillan), the third most interesting Rhona in a small Scottish town.
Her life is utterly dull, but after a freak clootie well accident results in bacterial pinkeye and the ability to make her own wishes come true, her star is finally on the rise.
“Suburgatory” creator Emily Kapnek will serve as showrunner and will executive produce with Gillan and Danny Elfman with the latter creating and overseeing music on the project.
