James Earl Jones, Cedric the Entertainer and Joy Bryant have joined Martin Lawrence in U’s “The Better Man” reports Variety.
Bryant has the femme lead role as Lawrence’s high-maintenance galpal, a former “Survivor” contestant who accompanies the talk show star to visit his family in a Southern home town.
Jones plays his dad and Cedric the Entertainer landed the role as Lawrence’s childhood rival. Production just began on the comedy, which also stars Louis C.K.
